Blair Berthelot Alford
Candidate for 22nd Judicial District Court Judge, Division C
Blair Berthelot Alford has dedicated her career to advocating for crime victims, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring justice is administered firmly, fairly, and impartially.
A lifelong resident of St. Tammany Parish, Blair was born and raised on the Northshore. She attended River Forest Academy (now Kehoe-France) and graduated from St. Scholastica Academy before earning her bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University. She received her law degree from Loyola University New Orleans, driven by a commitment to serve her community through the legal profession.
Blair has practiced law for nearly two decades, with the majority of her career spent as a violent crimes prosecutor. She established herself as one of the District Attorney’s most experienced and effective trial attorneys, handling serious felony cases and trying more than 100 cases before juries. The demands of that role sharpened her preparation, discipline, and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Blair's professional excellence has been recognized with awards including the Outstanding Prosecutor Award from Victims and Citizens Against Crime and the Crimefighters Award for Outstanding Work as a Prosecutor. She was also selected to mentor and train other prosecutors in trial practice, evidentiary issues, and courtroom strategy - testaments to her judgment, professionalism, and leadership.
In recent years, Blair has focused on civil litigation - broadening her perspective and deepening her understanding of how judicial rulings affect not only victims and defendants, but also families, businesses, and the broader communities of St. Tammany and Washington Parishes.
Blair believes judges must preside over courtrooms with order, efficiency, and unwavering impartiality. She is committed to advancing cases without unnecessary delay while treating every person who enters the courtroom with dignity and respect. Her career reflects a steadfast dedication to preparation, accountability, and deep reverence for the judicial process.
Blair and her husband, John, are raising their four children in Covington. As a mother and lifelong Northshore resident, she understands the trust families place in a justice system that must be consistent, fair, and dependable.
Blair Berthelot Alford is seeking the office of Judge to uphold the highest standards of the 22nd Judicial District Court - applying the law as written and maintaining a courtroom defined by integrity, fairness, and respect.
